A soldier from the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), identified as Warrant Officer Class One Mensah Williams of the Air Force, has been detained by military police following alleged assaults on a female customer and a pharmacist inside a pharmacy located at Burma Camp in Accra.

According to insiders within the military, the incident happened earlier this week, and Williams — who reportedly serves in the Office of the Chief of Staff — is alleged to have attacked both individuals. A circulated video appears to show him confronting the pharmacist, slapping him, then turning on the woman when she tried recording the altercation on her phone — after which she was struck multiple times in the head.
Eyewitnesses described the assault as unprovoked, leaving the victims deeply shaken. Following the attack, the military police intervened and arrested Williams, later handing him over to the Cantonments Police Station for further investigation and potential legal action.
As of now, the GAF has not issued an official statement. However, military sources suggest that if Williams is found to have violated regulations, internal disciplinary processes will be initiated. The incident has sparked concern within the military community, with many calling for decisive action to uphold the professionalism and reputation of the Armed Forces.
